Last Sunday Branko and I got a chance to meet with the newest member of the Just Giver team.  Marc comes to us from Penticton with a huge connection to Parkinson's loosing an uncle to PD and seeing his father live with PD for the past 15 years.

Marc is a Performance Planner with CSC Pacific and is based out of PacificSport Okanagan in Kelowna. He is the Lead, Performance Director for Team BC Canada Games and Western Canada Summer Games.  His task is to work with and ensure that national, provincial and regional athletes, coaches and teams perform to their highest levels.

The Just Giver team welcomes Marc Bowles and is excited about new possibilities and ideas that come along with additional riders!

Good news! After much discussion and fine tuning we have received the greenlight from PSBC for the 5th annual Just Giver for Parksinon tour.  Check back to the blog every few days as we release info regarding the 2010 tour.  Its been an amazing journey thus far and the route for 2010 will be epic to say the least.  Also this route wil allow us to visit 6 support groups along the way and visit 2 new communities while challenging our selves more then any other year!

Just in case you were wondering what the weather looked like at the top of Seymour this past weekend.  Branko and myself decided to check it out.  The climb went well until we hit snowfall for the final 2km of the 12.5km climb.  After we reached the top we quickly turned to head back down.  The first 2km was insane to say the least with a few inches of fresh snow and ice on the roads.  After both making it down safely we headed to Safeway to grab a much needed hot bowl of soup.

We heard the good/bad news today from Tara at PSBC that she will be moving on in December. Since Just Giver started in 2006, Tara has been an instrumental part of the tour and the SuperCycle, and there is no doubt that without Tara's help and enthusiasm, putting on the event each year would have been infinitely tougher. Though we're sad to see Tara go, her plans to live in the Netherlands and travel for at least the next year sounds like a fabulous opportunity for her, and we're looking forward to hearing some great stories!

Best of luck Tara,
Signed, Team Just Giver
