Golfer Steve Lackey knows firsthand, having lost his ability to play the game he loves to Parkinson's, only to gain it back again last week after receiving deep brain stimulation surgery.

Now, Lackey is hosting a five week golf clinic for other patients with Parkinson's, helping them enjoy exercise, and giving them some Parkinson's specific pointers. This story is a great example of the positive effect of exercise, and the stark difference this procedure can have on patients.

Back in 2008 Axel Merckx became an honorary member of the Just Giver Team.  Axel joined us to celebrate the first Annual SuperCycle event soon after his retirment from the Pro Tour.  After riding in the Tour de France 8 times, collecing an Olympic Bronze medal along with  many other accolades, Axel now finds himself as the Director of Lance Armstrongs U-23 Trek Livestrong Cycling Team.  Velonews recently caught up with Axel to ask him a few question.

Sorry for the delay after 2 weeks in Mexico we are ready for Just Giver 2010!

Stage #7 will be a good rest day after the huge stage #6 and to get ready for the huge climb ahead on stage #8.  A few short climbs this day and also the posbibility for some of the hottest temperatures of the tour. 45 degrees was hit on this same stage last year which make it a short but very dangerous stage with proper hydration playing a big role.
